13 September 2007 - Thomas M. Back has passed away (1957-2007). He was a famous optical designer. You can still find a lots of his designs among the market such as the TMB Planetary series eyepieces, TMB Paragon eyepieces, Williams Optics FLT 110mm APO TMB and many others refractors. It’s pity that our amateur astronomy community lost such a great person.
Don’t worry about what telescope you own, or its quality. Just get out under the night sky, and enjoy God’s wondrous universe.
This is what he said to the members of CloudyNights.com when CN reviewed him. I will always carry this quote with me. I was always thinking of getting better equipments and forgot the true virtue that an amateur astronomer got to have.
Let us send our condolences to his family. R.I.P., we will always remember you!
Oh my goodness… the holidays end today. Franky speaking, these holidays are all occupied by the preparation of Science Exhibition which will be held on 28-30 August 2007 in my school main hall. Our school Astronomy Club and Science Club work together to organise this event.

I am so released! Finally, I have fixed the theme (the visual presentation of my blog) to the best I could do. How do you feel? Please leave your comments here so that it can be further improved.
Anyway, the header (top banner) is still not done yet. Afterthat, I have to focus on the content building. You guys won’t want to read rubbish, right?
There’s a science event this Thursday, the Water Rocket Competition organised by CHHS (my school) Mathematics and Science Club.
It’s quite challenging to look for and read the information and steps to create a water rocket. It takes me about 3 days to finish all the reading and get the stuff ready to be combined into a rocket. Picture will be posted after I have done it. Let’s hope I can fly it over 240m.
I think I better take a break before I continuing doing anymore modification to my blog. See… I messed it.
I have no idea why but I am so tired lately. I have no enough time to do stargazing, reading of CloudyNights.com, LX90 Yahoo Groups and gaming (World of Warcraft). I have been busy trainning as the school sport’s day is drawing near. I take part in 200m, 4X100m and the long relay. Ok guys, please forgive me for taking a few holidays.
I will still notify you guys regarding the latest (going to happen) celestial events though.
As an amateur astronomer (A.A.), we can do many things. Visual observing (V.O.), astrophotography, comet hunting, asteroid hunting, supernova hunting and many more. V.O. can keep your eyes busy enjoying the scenetic space with unlimited objects. For astrophotography, there are mainly deep sky astrophotography and planetary photography to keep you busy around.
