[Posted on 31 Aug 2009] Time is really passing swiftly, I have been living in Australia for 9 weeks. So far, everything is going well. Hmm… not really.
I just had my first mid semester exams today. I was not in the mood to do revision on Mechanics and Electronics. A deep voice told me that I have learnt these things before but it’s obvious that I do not really know much about them. The funny thing is I am in a financial dilemma that if I could not get any scholarship to pay for my tuition fee and accommodation, I will end up going back to home after my first year. Robin, you should really think of your situation seriously. All you have to do now is to secure a scholarship, in other words, get good grades. Yes, I know. The motivation that carries me so far since high school has somehow disappeared. The enthusiasm is lost.
I need to find a new direction and redirect myself. Blogging is a good way to slowly set my new sail. Revive and readapt!
I will post up the photos I took on the way to Sydney from KL, Canberra and at ANU before Wednesday.
When people ask me how is Bruce Hall, how is my university life, how is Canberra, I always tell them the weather is cold but the people are warm. I am really grateful for those who helped me to get through all the difficulties. The girl working at the train information kiosk in Sydney airport who changed some coins for me to call back home and booked a bus for me to get to Canberra. Aishan who picked me up at the Jolimont centre and leaded me to Bruce Hall, ANU. AJ, the senior resident who got my room ready and the list goes on…
Since Australia is an isolated and huge continent from the mainland, most of the stuff have to be imported, resulting in sky-high price. At least, that’s true for me. However, the workers here are pretty well paid though. The average wage for 18-year-old worker is AUD15/hour in ACT (Australian Capital Territory). For 21 and above, it is about AUD22/hour. I will get a job as soon as I catch up academically, then I will be freed from the days saving every cent I could.
Cheers.

Indeed Bro, motivation is like boosters. They're usually not available at the time you need them most. But remember, the fuel that really powers you is your desire (which is often distracted by the most trivial things in life, for example materialistic wants etc).
You've got yourself a good start, now you just need to keep the ball rolling. Some challenges can be tackled head on, while for some, you need to work around them. This is when finding the right peers can be important. Everyone needs a helping hand along the way, especially when it gets stormy. And the lessons learn will be invaluable.
When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. Be grateful with what you already have and do your best to achieve your full potential.
You can do it, bro!
Hey Big Bro~
Yeah, I just feel like what I felt when I was just admitted to high school. The booster at the moment is just like a plasma thruster used in spacecraft which accelerates very slow but you will gain extremely fast speed compared to chemical combustion engine.
Keep the ball rolling!
Hey Bro!Cheer up!And get back all your motivation!Remember what you told me before?Pain past is pleasure!Strive for it,I believe you can do it!Wish all the best to you!^^
Cheers!
Good luck to your SAT and UEC. Make sure you look for the right person to write your recommendation letter. 吴晓燕 did a really bad job.
