God played with me again. Just right after everything was setup, a huge cloud rolled in… Well, I’m not the one that is easily taken down. Just 15 minutes later, the wind blew it away! ![]()
At this time, Jupiter shined brightly at us. So, time to catch the photons! The photo above is composed of 129 frames (subs) exposured at 800ms each and 4x-6x gain (forgot the actual number). The photon catcher (camera) was QHY5. Take a closer look at the photo by clicking on it. You can see Jup’s little satellite, Io.
Here’s another one. Thanks to LM321 (Larry) at Cloudynights.com for enhancing my Jupiter. It seems to be easier to resolve the details on the white-toned Jupiter than the brownish.
