I see. It has been a month since your last visit. :D

Frankly speaking, I do prefer space telescopes as they have the best incoming lights quality. A ground telescope on Moon which doesn't has atmosphere to protect the telescope from asteroids or meteors is in a dangerous situation.

Regards,
Kim Miau.

Searched for 'astronomy blogs'. :)

BTW I think if we put a telescope on the moon we'll put it in a heated building. Bit more convenient ;) But I think it will be a remote-controlled telescope like the HST, and any moon base will be built where it's suitable to build a moon base and not a telescope site.

I love the HST, and the HST has an advantage: it can look anywhere, while a moon based telescope can only see half the sky (like any telescope on earth).

I have no doubts a moon based telescope can deliver superior images, provided the logistics of sending a big mirror there can be overcome.....

I take it this is fiction? It's quite normal not to see stars when the Sun is up. How about stepping over the terminator into the dark side of the moon? ;)
